The Process
Step 1: Establish Customer Vision + Budget
Before we get to the development phase, we’ll need to solidify your vision and goals, and determine your budget, which will save you time and money later. This process will be the ultimate guide in determining how many rounds of sampling you need.
Step 2: Define Idea and Design
It’s always helpful to get ideas down on paper. So before producing any prototype or finished product, we refine your ideas with sketches. The more time we spend solving problems on paper, the less time we spend on costly fixes in the patterning and prototyping phase.
Step 3: Make the Pattern
Once the final sketch is ready, the next step is to make a “pattern” of your idea. Patterns are the backbone of the manufacturing process and have a lot of control over the quality of a product. A well-done pattern is crucial to making a great product. We will help you with your tests and the final iteration of your pattern.
Step 4: Sample/Prototype Development
Prototypes are created at a 1:1 scale, using a fabric that is relatively similar to the final fabric. This provides the designer and client with a physical, life-size sample, allowing for critical adjustments to ensure an ideal fit to the design before it is sent to final production.
Unique Products
After a written “approval” of the design and pattern, the prototype is replicated using the final fabric. Hand-sewn appliqués, embroidery, crystals, airbrushing, trims, and other decorations are currently applied.
Commercial Products
We will create fact sheets that you will use to communicate to the manufacturer all the necessary components needed to build a product. All the details of its design are included in the technical sheets.
Marketing and Content
We work with marketing and photography teams, creating stunning photos of your clothing that can be used for branding.
